Fundraising Kick-off

I was expecting perhaps a dozen to show up for our ‘Fundraising Kick-off’ meeting on 2nd May – in the event over 30 members of the church and wider community were there to bring enthusiasm and creativity to the task of raising the £500k required for the Building To Serve project to renovate 11 Canon Square and reorder St Michael’s Church.

It was inspiring to hear the different suggestions – from special events like the upcoming Plant and Craft Fair or a black-tie auction dinner, to professional services being offered such as cake-baking classes and medical terminology taster sessions.

The ideas included something for everyone – a sponsored Three Peaks Challenge; a sponsored cycle for the Wiltshire Historic Churches Ride & Stride; a sponsored walk finishing with a curry and a pint – enabling everyone to get involved in different ways.

The challenge now is turning the dream into reality, so a fundraising committee has been formed to help get us mobilised - get in touch if you’ve got a creative idea!
